Kabul Medical University (KMU) inaugurates its second IT Lab at ANGeL Center for Teaching and Learning, 12 November 2008.
Dr. Obaidullah Obaid explains his commitment to the goal of the ANGeL Center as follows: “To strengthen teaching and learning with the use of the Internet and associated technologies. The emphasis is on best practices for teaching and how to use these same best practices when information communication technologies are used.”  “Moreover,” Dr Obaid adds, “the ANGeL Center gives us access to up-to-date online research, teaching and learning materials for medical and health practitioners, lecturers and students. Through the ANGeL Center we can connect with other medical universities around the world. We can ask their lecturers to give lectures to our students and we can give lectures to their students as well.”

His Excellency, Dr. Dadfar, Minister of Higher Education stressed the importance of the use of the Internet and the wealth of medical and health materials that are available in the Internet. His Excellency thanked USAID/Afghanistan and Afghan eQuality Alliances for helping Kabul Medical University establish their ANGeL Center and improving it.

The ribbon cutting was done by Dr. Dadfar, Dr. Obaidullah Obaid and Dr. Maria Beebe.

It is worth mentioning that last month 800 KMU students registered to take an IT placement exam. For this month, 374 students who passed the exam are able to take IT modules that will help them with IT essentials and the use of Internet.
The goal achieved as double number of students started their IT classes with launch of additional IT Lab at KMU.
